Better Forms I-9: Stronger Enforcement, Faster Compliance
Form I-9 compliance is an imperative business strategy. In today's worksite enforcement environment, Form I-9 audits are up by at least 600% over previous years. This form seems so simple, but can lead to insurmountable fines and arrests, not to mention business closures. This session provides best practice guidelines for compliance and well as education about the number of government agencies involved in this process.
We will uncover the business imperative of compliant Forms I-9, discuss legislative measures which affect the Form I-9 process, and layout the multiple federal agencies which influence the Form I-9.
Sheila Moss is the owner of the consulting company Information Solutions Team. She travels the nation each year presenting human resource related topics and providing training programs for corporations, financial and educational institutions, non-profit organizations and many more. She is considered a subject matter expert in employment eligibility compliance and is widely known as the “I-9 Lady.” Her consulting group has increased its’ nationwide presence with an initiative to increase positive workplace behavior through national speaking opportunities and corporate training events.
Sheila has been a frequent speaker at the Arkansas Society for Human Resource Management (ARSHRM) conferences as well as numerous other events nationwide. She has taught for the University of Arkansas Global Campus and worked in the banking industry. In 2019, Sheila became a certified instructor of SOCIAL STYLE & Versatility® In 2017, Sheila was named NOARK HR Professional of the year. In 2018, she received the Russell Gunter Legislative Advocacy Award from ARSHRM. She is a 4th generation resident of Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
